People

A sense of mystery and uncertainty prevails when photographing people in the street. The initial shyness and concern with photographing unknown inhabitants is outweighed by the desire to try and experience the otherness. Often this is romanticized by its differences from our norm but I attempt to photograph it truthfully in its gritty and unbecoming nature. I want to focus on human moments when people are unaware of the camera and document our changing world by focusing on small glimpses into other’s lives. Globalization is shifting our unique ways of life into a much more homogenous one and in the process losing the nuances of culture.
