People Solo Exhibit

All are invited to the opening reception of the Abbotsford Arts Council’s next show at the Kariton Art Gallery: “People,” showcasing a collection of photographic works by Abbotsford artist Fiona Howarth.“People” features a series of images of people on the street, focusing on human moments when people are unaware of the camera.The show will run from June 28 to July 23 at the Kariton Art Gallery, located in Mill Lake Park at 2387 Ware Street. Boneyard Solo Exhibit

Presenting Howarth Photography’s first solo show of 2013. The Boneyard is a symbolic place for the faded memories of grandeur and fame that encompass Las Vegas.  It is a fitting end for these signs that when the glittering lights go out they are sequestered away to a dusty lot on the way out to the desert. These signs are the discarded totems of our age and are a reflection of our vanities on which time takes its unrelenting toll. My interest lies in the aesthetics of decay and the interplay between light, form, texture, and colour. This exhibit utilizes large-scale aluminum colour prints and black and white Polaroid transfers which exemplify the dichotomy between majesty and intimacy in the Boneyard.

Boneyard runs at the Fort Gallery from March 27th to April 14th with the opening reception on Friday March 29th 7-9pm. Gallery hours are 12–5pm, Wednesday to Sunday at 9048 Glover Road, Fort Langley.
